Journalist / Reporter

Lori Lizarraga is an Ecuadorian-Mexican-American journalist from Texas and a Murrow and Emmy-award winning international reporter. This year, Lizarraga gained national attention for her reporting on diversity in the media. Her op-ed, “LatinXed: 9NEWS Got Rid of Three Latina Reporters This Past Year, Including Me,” ignited a national conversation around representation in news and forced new standards of immigration coverage into effect at more than 60 TV stations across the country. In 2021, Lizarraga was recognized and awarded by the likes of NPR, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the ACLU of Colorado for her ‘outstanding work to further civil rights and liberties for the citizens of Colorado and Latinos across the country.’
