Rebecca Smith launched RECLINER in November 2015 to modernize the sleepwear sector. Still the afterthought to lingerie and dominated by ageing retailers too reliant on holiday business, the sleepwear industry has not kept up to date with the changing demands and values of today’s female consumers: investing increasingly in self-care and spending more time than ever before at home. RECLINER has been featured in numerous publications including Forbes, Fast Company, Vogue and The Cut. Celebrity fans include Katy Perry, Dana Bash and Amy Schumer.

Rebecca’s career has been dedicated to driving innovation for fashion brands, helping them re-­position to create new market opportunities. She conceptualized and rolled out the re-­launch of the notorious Herve Leger ‘bandage dress’, developing a global sales and marketing strategy that set the brand up for multi-­million-­dollar revenues in the first year. Rebecca ran the Americas wholesale business for iconic accessories brand Lulu Guinness, built the team and developed exclusive partnerships with the likes of Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. Rebecca went on to lead sales and business development at WANT Essentials, launching new products that transformed the business. Here, she took the brand to over twenty-­five countries and led product and retail partnerships that included collaborations with JCrew, Warby Parker, Liberty of London and Standard Hotels.

Rebecca lives in Brooklyn with her husband Alex and son Roman.
