Graeme Menzies is an international youth marketing and communications professional, currently leading the undergraduate prospective student marketing team at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Ranked by Times Higher Education as one of the top 20 public universities in the world, and the most international institution in North America, UBC currently has over 60,000 students (including 14,000 international students) attending its campuses in Canada’s western-most province.
Prior to entering the post-secondary arena, Graeme led the digital and print communications team for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and oversaw the development of the world’s first ever official Olympic social media channels (as well as the first mobile app – Digital Spectator Guide – used in an Olympic Games). Other previous experiences include: managing the international Global Leaders’ Conference at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, WA; serving as the Marketing Director for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in Alberta, Canada; working in public affairs at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC; and advertising and public relations agency work.
