Dori Newman

Dori Newman is a seventeen-year-old advocate and activist, working to promote youth participation in local politics. She serves on Manhattan Community Board #8 (CB8), an appointed citizens' advisory committee where she represents over 215,000 New Yorkers on the Small Business and Education & Youth subcommittees. Previously, she's worked with the Seeds of Peace foundation and the Citizens Committee for Children, an organization that ensures every child in NYC is healthy, housed, educated and safe. Most importantly, Dori is a junior in high school, where she loves writing, taking Latin and Greek, and leading the debate team.
